Join the Birmingham Zydeco Cajun Club and DJ Case Quarter who will be spinning selections from the newly released box set Clifton Chenier: King of Louisiana Blues and Zydeco (from 2-4), which features many previously unreleased live recordings; then stay for DJ Case Quarter’s curated set of vintage funk and soul from across the Gulf South and beyond (4-6pm). The High Dive is a beautiful NEW venue (opened in January 2026) that features Coffee, Cocktails, Food & Music, has a fabulous sound system and a polished cork floor. Photos, menu, etc. at

This is not a BZCC event, but one BZCC members are very much looking forward to attending! Dirk and Amelia Powell are a father-daughter duo rooted in the bayous of Louisiana and the mountains of Kentucky (Amelia is the granddaughter of legendary Cajun fiddler Dewey Balfa). Caleb and Reeb are based in the Pacific Northwest and play American old-time music. This will be an Old Time Music event. Cajun Duo: Jean Bertrand & Amy Scher

Jean Bertrand (who you may know as the lead guitarist of The Pine Leaf Boys and band leader for 99 Playboys) is a Grammy nominated Louisiana-based multi-instrumentalist who has been called  “one of South Louisiana’s premier purveyors of authentic Cajun music.” Amy Scher, a multi-instrumentalist (fiddle and guitar), will join Jean (accordion and guitar) for our listening and dancing pleasure during Brunch at the newly opened Roll Cajun Boudin restaurant in downtown Birmingham.

Cost: $35 Advance Purchase Reserved Tickets available exclusively through BZCC ($35 includes Brunch Buffet,  1 non-alcoholic drink, tax, gratuity + contribution for music, and guarantees admission/seat). Tickets may be available at the door, if space permits. No music only tickets are available at this time. Physical Tickets will be available through Fred or Joy or via the BZCC website, beginning March 16th

Dennis Stroughmatt and his band, Creole Stomp, have been described as “a powerhouse Louisiana style band that serves up tradition with sides of entertaining swamp-pop, blues and honky-tonk.”  They will be serving up the music for our listening and dancing pleasure during Brunch at the Roll Cajun Boudin restaurant in downtown Birmingham.
